Master craftsmen Gary Weisenburger has been at the forefront of innovative wood design and craftsmanship. He began his woodworking career in Connecticut in 1974, building wooden boats on Long Island Sound. He taught the craft at Mystic Seaport Museum, occasionally writing for WoodenBoat magazine, and he spent a few years as an editor at Fine WoodWorking magazine. Gary Weisenburger's years of experience - from yacht building to education, from editorial work to cabinetry - have left him with an incomparable breadth of knowledge in the area of his craft. While at Fine WoodWorking, he had the privilege of meeting many of this country's most renowned woodworkers, including Tage Frid, Craig Nutt, and Terry Moore, who passed along tricks of the trade. His appreciation for first-rate joinery, his understanding of many wood species, and his sense of design are visible in each finished product.
